John Scott
Managing Director
Since he became managing director of Scott Timber in 1990 at the age of 18, John Scott has transformed the family sawmill business into Europe's leading pallet manufacturer. An entrepreneurial and flexible approach to management has resulted in turnover of £96k and a trading loss being converted to around £127m in sales and healthy profit while employment has increased from 4 to almost 1000. Under John's leadership the company continues to identify and develop new market opportunities, expanding through organic growth and acquisition. Re-branded as the Scott Group, John has continued to diversify and restructure the company with divisions now covering packaging, engineering supply and reverse logistics solutions.
Allan Cheetham
Fasco Financial Director
Allan is Financial Director and is responsible for all areas of financial control within Fasco Engineers Supply Ltd. He controls all day-to-day finance matters and provides daily and monthly information for Scott Group Directors. He oversees the payroll and heads up a small in-house team concerned with Credit Control, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger. With over 30 years of experience, Allan enjoyed a variety of financial roles within the motoring industry, working for the likes of Nissan, Arnold Clark and The Eastern Western Group, before progressing on to Fasco in 1996. When not at work, Allan likes to work on his golfing handicap.
Norman Scott
Director
With a proven track record and wealth of business experience, Norman joined the board of Scott Timber in 1995 to strengthen the management team. He is involved in all aspects of the business and its development but with particular responsibilities for the Group's Southern operations and timber purchasing. Norman has been instrumental in negotiating reliable lines of supply for quality timber imported from Russia, the Baltic States and Chile.
Charles Quinn
Fasco Sales Director
Charles has 30 years experience in sales and has worked with Fasco for 22 years. He joined in 1986 as a sales person and worked his way up to Sales Director in 1989. In addition to leading the special contracts team handling Fasco's largest customer accounts, Charles and Fasco’s Sales Manager Alan Fairley supervise Fasco's sales force, comprising 10 external and 2 internal sales people. When not at his desk, he's usually out on site visiting customers and pitching business all over the UK. He is ably assisted by his team of Daleen, Danny and Nicola in special contracts, who together generate a significant portion of Fasco’s turnover.
