Fasco Ltd is Scotland's largest independent suppliers of industrial fasteners, engineering and welding equipment, janitorial supplies, protective clothing and safety equipment.

The Directors and staff of Fasco Ltd recognise the environmental issues associated with our major activities relating to waste, water and energy management as well as the issues relating to our peripheral activities. We aim to implement all reasonably practicable measures to prevent pollution to the environment and comply with all current environmental regulations, legislation and approved codes of practice.

In achieving these aims the company will:

  • Ensure that we meet or exceed all relevant and current environmental legislation regarding our business operations;
  • Strive to ensure that all of our wastes are handled, stored and disposed of as required not only by legislation, but as examples of best practice;
  • Work to reduce the amount of waste produced, in terms of both office and other waste;
  • Recycle packaging to the best of our ability;
  • Investigate measures which would reduce the consumption of raw materials (especially water, electricity, and gas);
  • Strive to minimise the risk of pollutant disposal to water, land and air;
  • Establish objectives and targets to support this policy and review them regularly to improve our environmental performance;
  • Provide appropriate training to our employees to enable them to implement this environmental policy;
  • Exercise control, as far as is possible, over the environmental impacts arising as a result of work being undertaken on our behalf by our sub-contractors, suppliers and maintenance contractors; and
  • Regularly review this policy in light of any new knowledge, changing legislation or public concerns.

Fasco Ltd will endeavour to increase environmental awareness and understanding within the workforce in order to meet the above aims.

The Directors have direct responsibility for the implementation of this policy.
